Anyone who enjoys playing seven card stud, will enjoy High Chicago Poker. When a table decides that they are going to play a hand of High Chicago Poker, every player must place an ante bet. This bet basically assures that everyone is interested in the hand. Once everyone is in, the dealer will deal. During this round of dealing each player will receive three cards. Two of the cards will be face down and the third should be face up so that everyone can see its value.
In this type of poker star, the person to first place a bet is not determined by their proximity to the dealer, but rather the value of the card that is showing. The seventh card is dealt face down. Five of the seven cards are used to determine who has the best hand. Half of the pot goes to the player with the best hand, while the player who lucked out and had the highest, face down spade gets the other half of the pot.

The biggest difference between high Chicago and low Chicago poker is that when the players are playing high Chicago, all of the cards retain their face value. If the table is playing low Chicago Follow the Queen, than the queens and one trailer card are considered wild cards and change a losing hand into a winning hand. There is also another variation of the game which is called low Chicago Follow the Cowboy. In a game of cowboy, it is the Kind rather than the queen that is going to be wild.
The way that the pot is split up is also a little different when the game is low Chicago. In low Chicago the pot is divided between the person who has the best hand and also the person with the lowest spade card that was dealt face up. One of the biggest arguments that occurs during a game of low Chicago on PokerStar.it is a fight over the value of the Ace of Spades. Some players feel that it is the lowest spade card while other feels that distinction should go to the two of spades.
